A Passion to Lead, Grow, & Learn
I began my employment at William Newton Hospital in 2016 and am approaching 10 years of service. I originally chose William Newton Hospital as a stable opportunity to support myself through school and build a strong professional foundation. But over time, it has become much more than a job. I take pride in caring for both our patients and my coworkers by encouraging professional growth, strong interpersonal skills, and a supportive work environment. Helping others in any capacity has always been something I truly enjoy.
I have a strong passion for leading others in growing and continuous learning. My journey began in floor care, expanded into environmental services supervisor, and has since grown into leadership within our healthcare system. Healthcare offers exceptional opportunities for professional development, not only because of the medical field itself but because of the diverse, highly skilled professionals who collaborate daily too. At William Newton Hospital, business and medical professionals work side by side to solve complex problems that often don’t have a single, predefined solution.
William Newton Hospital is more than a healthcare facility — it’s also an integral part of the community. The hospital feels like an extended family made up of individuals from all backgrounds and personalities. Winfield offers an affordable cost of living compared to larger cities such as Wichita while still being close enough to enjoy everything a larger city has to offer. The local school systems strike a balance between being large enough to provide opportunity without the challenges often found in major metropolitan areas.
The work culture at William Newton Hospital is truly unique. We combine small-town values — respect, integrity, and compassion — with big-city professionalism. It’s where strong, moral values meet modern healthcare practices. From my personal experience, the relationships among staff are exceptional. My family and I have been patients at the hospital on several occasions; the care truly feels like it comes from family rather than strangers. That level of trust and familiarity creates an environment where healing feels more personal and genuine.

Work-life balance is a major priority at William Newton Hospital. As leaders, we understand when employees are supported at home, they perform better at work. While we maintain healthy boundaries between personal and professional lives, a positive culture and simple kindness go a long way. We actively promote balance and flexibility, understanding employees are not meant to be “married to their work.”
William Newton Hospital also stands out in how it supports families — both within the organization and throughout the community. The hospital offers assistance like PTO drives, meals, and other resources that make a meaningful difference for employees and families facing financial challenges.
The top three reasons a job seeker should choose William Newton Hospital to grow their career are:
- A supportive, family-like team environment that challenges individuals to grow while recognizing and strengthening their natural talents
- Big-city professionalism with a personal touch, including honest, constructive feedback that encourages development while maintaining respect and trust
- Exceptional work-life balance, with flexibility that allows employees to care for their families without sacrificing their careers
Additionally, the hospital’s benefits package is outstanding. Employees are provided with generously accrued personal and sick time, seamless access to benefits, and participation in KPERS, offering strong retirement planning. William Newton Hospital actively encourages and supports employees who wish to further their education and advance professionally, providing guidance and opportunities for growth.
William Newton Hospital isn’t just a place to work — it’s a place to grow, belong, and build a meaningful career.
