William Newton Hospital is pleased to announce the promotions of Amanda Gropper to Director of Radiology, Elizabeth Henderson to Medical-Surgical/ICU Nurse Manager, and Nicole Taylor to Medical-Surgical/ICU Assistant Nurse Manager. These individuals bring a wealth of experience and dedication to their new leadership roles within the hospital.
Amanda Gropper, RT(R)(CT), has been promoted to Director of Radiology. With over nine years of experience in diagnostic imaging, including X-rays, CT scans, and mammography, Gropper brings extensive clinical expertise and leadership to her new role. Her commitment to patient care, technical excellence, and team collaboration has been a hallmark of her career in the department. As director, Gropper will lead initiatives to enhance imaging services, support staff development, and advance the department’s mission of delivering high-quality radiologic care.
“I am excited to uphold the core values of William Newton Hospital within radiology and create a professional, educational, and safe environment where patients and staff are treated with dignity, kindness, and compassion,” said Gropper. “I am committed to fostering a culture of continuous learning, excellence in care, and unwavering respect for all. I look forward to working with my team to build a beautiful future for William Newton Hospital radiology.”
"Amanda’s promotion to Director of Radiology is a natural progression, recognizing her invaluable contributions to the diagnostic imaging department over the past nine years," said Amber Seitzinger, Chief Ancillary Officer, MHA, OTR/L, FACHE. “Her extensive knowledge, exceptional skill set, and strong commitment to quality patient care make her well-suited for this leadership role.”
After serving in an interim role for several months, Elizabeth Henderson, RN, has been named Nurse Manager for the Medical-Surgical/Intensive Care Unit (Med-Surg/ICU). Henderson's background includes a bachelor's degree in animal science from Kansas State University, experience in embryo transfer and broodmares, and four years working at a small animal veterinary clinic while becoming a registered nurse.
She has also worked in med-surg as a charge nurse, hospice care nurse, and full-time charge nurse at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kan. Henderson is passionate about bedside care, compassion, education, and process improvement. In her new role, she will oversee the operations of the medical-surgical and ICU units, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.
Chief Nursing Officer Laura Frazier, BSN, RN, welcomes Henderson to the nursing leadership team.
“With extensive experience in acute care and a passion for team-based, high-quality patient care, Liz is uniquely positioned to lead our med-surg and ICU teams forward,” said Frazier. “Her leadership will be instrumental in enhancing clinical outcomes, fostering professional development, and advancing excellence across these units.”
Nicole Taylor has been appointed the new Medical-Surgical/ICU Assistant Nurse Manager. A registered nurse since 2014, Taylor is a graduate of Holy Name Medical Center School of Nursing in Teaneck, NJ. Prior to joining William Newton Hospital, Taylor worked in med-surg at Kansas Medical Center. She joined the William Newton Hospital emergency department in 2017 and transferred to the ICU in 2018. After an extended maternity leave in 2021, she returned in 2023.
“I’m excited to work alongside Elizabeth to continue supporting quality care for our Med-Surg and ICU patients,” said Taylor. “One of the things I appreciate most about William Newton Hospital is the people. We have a team that genuinely cares about each other and the community that we serve. I’m grateful for the opportunity to support our nurses and contribute to the care we provide each day.”
In 2020, Taylor was the recipient of the annual DAISY Award at William Newton Hospital. The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses ® is part of the DAISY Foundation's mission to recognize the extraordinary, compassionate nursing care they provide patients and families every day. Her nomination stated that William Newton Hospital is “blessed to have such a talented nurse who treats patients as if they are family."
Of Taylor’s promotion to Assistant Nurse Manager, Frazier said, “Nicole brings a strong clinical background, a collaborative spirit, and a deep commitment to patient-centered care. She will be a valuable asset in supporting our nursing team, strengthening daily operations, and continuing our mission of delivering exceptional care to every patient.”
William Newton Hospital looks forward to the positive impact that Amanda Gropper, Elizabeth Henderson, and Nicole Taylor will have in their new leadership roles as the hospital continues its mission of providing excellent healthcare to the community.
