May 14, 2025

William Newton Hospital's marketing team was recognized for excellence in public relations and marketing efforts by the Kansas Association of Health Care Communicators (KAHCC) through its annual Emerald Awards competition.

The 2025 Emerald Awards were presented at the KAHCC Spring Conference on April 25 in Newton, Kan. Marketing professionals from Oregon, Georgia, and Arizona evaluated 58 entries for planning and research, implementation, cost-effectiveness, and results, awarding 21 Emerald Awards and 22 Certificates of Merit.

Sarah Johnson, Director of Marketing, Strategy, and Communications, and Kylie Stamper, Marketing Coordinator, submitted three entries and were honored with three Emerald Awards in the following categories:

  • Communications - Total Campaign: "Project Fast Track"
  • Small Budget, Big Results: "Don Land: From the Ranch to Recovery"
  • Writing: “Celebrating Swing Bed Success”

The Project Fast Track entry was unanimously selected by judges as a finalist, and the advertising campaign “Say Yes to Your Health” from NMC Health in Newton, Kan. was named Best in Show.

These recognitions highlight the team's dedication to innovative and effective communication strategies that serve the hospital and the community.

“Sarah and Kylie have built a reputation for consistently delivering exceptional work, and it’s gratifying to see their talents celebrated by their industry peers. All of us at William Newton Hospital congratulate them on this well-deserved recognition.
