Employee Stories
“Helping others in any capacity has always been something I enjoy. William Newton Hospital is more than a healthcare facility — it’s also an integral part of the community. The hospital feels like an extended family made up of individuals from all backgrounds and personalities. Winfield offers an affordable cost of living compared to larger cities such as Wichita while still being close enough to enjoy everything a larger city has to offer. From my personal experience, the relationships among staff are exceptional. My loved ones and I have been patients at the hospital on several occasions; the care truly feels like it comes from family rather than strangers. That level of trust creates an environment where healing feels more personal and genuine. The work culture at William Newton Hospital is truly unique. As leaders, we understand when employees are supported at home, they perform better at work. We actively promote balance and flexibility, understanding employees are not meant to be ‘married to their work.’ Additionally, the hospital’s benefits package is outstanding. Employees are provided with generously accrued personal and sick time, seamless access to benefits, and participation in KPERS, offering strong retirement planning. William Newton Hospital actively encourages and supports employees who wish to further their education and advance professionally, providing guidance and opportunities for growth. William Newton Hospital isn’t just a place to work — it’s a place to grow, belong, and build a meaningful career.”

Environmental Services Second Shift Supervisor

“From a manager's standpoint, the relationships I have built with patients we see in our clinic are the most rewarding aspect of this job. I love when I run into patients out in the wild, and they know my name and take time to say hi. The Winfield community is amazing. I was born here at WNH and raised in Winfield; I returned after college, got married here, and I am raising my children here. The community has a lot of charm; it’s very welcoming and there are ample activities and opportunities offered for all walks of life. I love my little work family here at Winfield surgery and service. We support one another at work and outside work. I’ve also been blessed with the opportunity to level up in my position; this empowered me to grow in my leadership role and expand my skills over seeing multiple clinics. I see WNH constantly providing opportunities for people to improve their skill sets or leadership roles through education, and WNH often cover the costs for those opportunities as well.”
Molly Jones
Director of Clinic Operations and Manager of William Newton Surgery & Services

I first came to William Newton Hospital simply because I needed a job. I started in laundry, but eventually transferred to sterile processing, where I’ve been for more than 20 years. What I enjoy most about working at WNH is the atmosphere — we’re family-friendly with great people on our team. One of the most rewarding aspects of my job is knowing we make surgeries safe for each patient every time.
The community around WNH is amazing. You can raise a family here. It’s safe, and the cost of living is better than that in Wichita. I have great relationships with my co-workers here too; we really are like a family! I believe WNH gives great support to all staff members. We take care of our own, and you just can’t get this level of care anywhere else.
